Gorillaz have confirmed the release of their ninth studio album, The Mountain, scheduled for February 27, 2026. Damon Albarn revealed that the record was recorded across multiple cities worldwide and will feature collaborations with Sparks and Bizarrap, as well as songs in several languages including English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, and Yoruba. The singles already released — The Happy Dictator, The Manifesto, The God of Lying, Damascus, and The Hardest Thing / Orange County — have generated strong anticipation among fans.

With this new project, the virtual band led by Albarn and Jamie Hewlett promises to expand their sonic universe even further, following the success of Cracker Island (2023). The Mountain is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious releases of the year, offering a multicultural approach that reinforces Gorillaz’s experimental essence and their ability to constantly reinvent themselves on the global stage.
